Jerome Chiabaut is Senior Patent Engineer at Hilco IP Merchant Banking. With a career spanning over 25 years in high tech, Jérôme has experience in wide-ranging areas of data networking including network architecture, security, TCP/IP, Ethernet, optical, and wireless transmission. Jérôme has extensive experience in claim-charting, including in the wireless (LTE) and Ethernet standard-essential spaces.

Prior to joining Hilco, Jérôme was an IP consultant at Marquis Technologies and Rockstar, identifying and claim-charting standard-essential and implementation patents. At Rockstar, Jérôme participated in patent assertion meetings and worked closely with the patent prosecution team to recognize valuable patent applications and file key continuations. Before Rockstar, Jérôme held various R&D positions at Nortel as lead software engineer and system architect. Jérôme is a named inventor on 20 US patents, five of which are essential to the IEEE 802.1aq standard, and on several pending US and foreign patent applications.
